Letter to Future English 110 Students

Dear Future English 110 students,

Just like any other new experience or class I have taken, I was nervous. However, after taking the quarter there is nothing to stress or worry about. The English 110 not only re-teaches concepts taught throughout High School, but also prepares you for the big ARP paper due at the end of the quarter. Throughout the English class, it is crucial to attend class everyday to understand the concept being taught and to really grasp the ideas need to write your research paper.

There are a couple key concepts that you should keep in mind while taking this class that will help you receive the grade and experience you want to get.

1. One of the most important concept is to stay on top of your work. Just like any other class it is important to stay with your work. However, in English it is a crucial key to stay on top of your work to fully receive the benefits of being in English 110. This will give you more time for you as student to proofread your work as well as meet with the teacher to talk about your paper.

2. At the end of the year, do not forget that you have to write the common place. Even though the ARP is a big paper, there is another paper written to the general public that I found harder to write then the ARP. In this case its better if your one step ahead of the class. This always enables for you to not stress and cram your paper.

3. The last key concept, is make friends in your English class. By making friends it is easier to help someone else proofread your papers. Also, the class is so small compared to a lot of OSU classes that it is easier to make friends that can make the class something to look forward too.

In general, 1. Stay on top of your work., 2. Leave enough room to be able to ask the teacher questions and peer edit, 3. Have fun and make friends. College is all about the experience and through writing you can help write about the experience, as well as creating one.
